What problem does it solve?
Someone whose boiler has broken down or whose air conditioner is not cooling often has to rely on word of mouth, street ads or random numbers from search results. Prices are not known in advance, the technician's skills and track record are unknown, and no-shows and unnecessary part replacements are common complaints. On the other side, good independent technicians spend time on classified sites and social media to find customers and cannot balance seasonal workloads. General service platforms are spread across too many categories to highlight expertise and trust signals in a specific niche.
Target customers
- Homeowners and tenants
- Residential complex and apartment building managers
- Small businesses (cafes, offices, shops)
- Independent technicians and small service companies
- Real estate and rental property management companies
How the product works
In the app, the customer selects the device type, brand and fault, adds photos or video and specifies a suitable time window. The request goes to technicians in the area who are verified in that niche; they send quotes with an estimated price range and arrival time. The customer compares quotes alongside each technician's rating, reviews and number of completed jobs, then chooses. In-app messaging clarifies the details and appointment reminders are sent. When the job is done, the customer leaves a rating and review, and the technician records the work done and parts used. The technician dashboard shows incoming requests, the calendar and an earnings summary.
What the first version (MVP) needs
- Request creation: a quick form with device, fault, photos and time window
- Technician matching: route requests to relevant technicians by area and expertise
- Quote system: quotes with a price range, arrival time and notes
- Technician profiles and verification: documents, experience, ratings and reviews
- In-app messaging and appointment reminders
- Job records and ratings: completed work, parts used and customer reviews
- Admin panel: technician approval, complaint handling and regional reports
Revenue model
- Monthly or annual membership plans for technicians
- Quote credits: technicians buy credits to send quotes on requests
- Commission on each completed job
- Featured technician profiles and regional ad placements
Why now?
With widespread smartphone use, people have become used to finding and comparing home services through apps. Areas such as boilers, air conditioning and home appliances see seasonal demand peaks, so the need for matching is high on both the customer and technician sides. In Turkey, much of this work is still fragmented and informal; a platform that builds a niche-focused, verified technician network can close the trust gap. It is possible to start with one city and one niche, then take a proven model to other cities and categories.
End-to-end roadmap
- Validate the idea (1 week): Interviews with target customers, competitor and pricing research; we sharpen the idea together in a free pre-analysis.
- Scope and design (1–2 weeks): MVP feature list, screen designs and technical architecture; written scope and quote.
- Build the MVP (10–14 weeks): Staged development with weekly demos and a test environment; the source code belongs to you.
- Pilot (2–4 weeks): Real use with the first customers, feedback and fixes.
- Launch and grow (ongoing): App Store and Google Play release, website and SEO, payments and subscriptions, new modules.
Timelines are estimates; they are fixed in a written quote once the scope is clear.
Risks and how to handle them
- Chicken-and-egg problem: start with one city and one niche, and win over technicians one by one in the field first
- Customers and technicians taking business off-platform: offer a membership model instead of commission, plus on-platform guarantees and record-keeping benefits
- Poor service and reputation risk: clearly define technician document checks, a rating threshold and a complaint process

Frequently asked questions
Why choose a single niche instead of a general platform?
In a single niche, fault types, form fields and technician verification criteria are easier to define. Marketing messages are also more targeted, which makes acquiring both customers and technicians easier at the start.
How are technicians verified?
You can request ID, a trade certificate or authorized service certificate, tax registration and references. At first, phone and document checks done by the team are enough.
Should payments be taken on the platform?
It is not required. Taking payments on the platform means working with a licensed payment institution and adds a regulatory compliance burden; in the MVP, payment can be left between the technician and the customer.
How should customer and technician data be protected?
Addresses, phone numbers and location are personal data under KVKK, Turkey's data protection law. A privacy notice and explicit consent should be obtained, contact details should be shared only after a quote is accepted, and data should be stored securely.
