Food Delivery Marketplace Like Yemeksepeti: Launch a Multi-Restaurant Ordering App for Your Area

If you want to launch a food ordering platform that brings the restaurants of a district, a city or a residential complex together in one app, I build the customer app, restaurant panel, courier app and admin panel together. The HızlıGetir interface in the image is the customer side of this setup: nearby restaurants by address, delivery times, promotions and live order tracking.

Quick answerA food delivery marketplace like Yemeksepeti, Turkey's leading platform, consists of four parts: the customer app (iOS, Android, web), the restaurant panel, the courier app and the admin panel. The platform manages delivery zones, restaurant commissions and payouts, the marketplace payment model, promotions and coupons, and ratings and reviews. Hakan Sevimoğlu develops these systems end to end; he built the mobile interface for the lieferstdu.de ordering and delivery platform in Germany and set up Kassa Restoran, a system where restaurants collect their Yemeksepeti, Getir and Trendyol orders in a single panel.

Winning without playing the big platforms' game

Instead of competing with national platforms across an entire city, local platforms grow strong in a specific area: a single district, a university neighbourhood, a holiday region or a gated community. Restaurants get lower commissions, customers get well-known local businesses and fast delivery; the direct relationship with restaurants is an advantage the big platforms cannot offer.

That is why the first version of the software does not aim for every feature, but for an order-to-delivery chain that runs flawlessly in one area: restaurants never miss an order, couriers reach the right address quickly, and customers can see where their order is.

Customer app

  • Delivery address selection; listing of restaurants that deliver to that address
  • Filters: fast delivery, top rated, free delivery, flash deals, cuisine type
  • Delivery time, minimum order, delivery fee and promotion badge on each restaurant card
  • Menu, portion and extra topping selection, order notes, favourites and reorder
  • Online card payment, cash or card on delivery, coupon codes
  • Live order status: confirmed, preparing, on the way, delivered; courier location on the map
  • Ratings, reviews and post-order support

The app is published on iOS and Android, either native or from a single codebase, and on the web as a fast-loading site whose restaurant and cuisine pages are indexed on Google.

Restaurant panel and courier app

The restaurant sees each order with an audible alert, accepts it and enters the preparation time; it updates its own menu, prices, out-of-stock items and opening hours, and can temporarily pause orders during rush hours. Payouts and commission deductions are tracked in the panel. If the restaurant already uses a POS, orders can be sent straight to it; Kassa Restoran collects all platform orders in a single panel.

The courier app includes new job notifications, restaurant and customer addresses, navigation, delivery confirmation and cash-on-delivery records. Assignment is automatic (nearest available courier) or manual from the operations screen; courier earnings are calculated per delivery or per hour. For the model where restaurants use their own couriers, the delivery and courier tracking setup is used.

Admin panel: zones, commissions and marketplace payments

Delivery zones are drawn on a map; each zone gets its own delivery fee, minimum order and service hours. Each restaurant is assigned its own commission rate, promotion contribution share and payout term. Banners, featured listings, coupons and flash deals are managed from the panel; ratings and reviews go through moderation.

Payments use the marketplace model: the customer pays once, and the amount is split into the restaurant payout and the platform commission. This is built with the iyzico or PayTR marketplace solutions, with restaurants registered as sub-merchants (alt üye işyeri). As an intermediary service provider, ETBİS (Turkey's e-commerce registry) registration, distance sales terms and KVKK (Turkey's data protection law) notices are prepared before launch.

Growing the platform step by step

  1. Define your area and first group of restaurants; choose the delivery model (platform couriers, restaurant couriers, pickup).
  2. First version: customer app and web, restaurant panel, courier app, admin panel and online payment.
  3. Increase repeat orders with promotions, coupons, loyalty points and push notifications.
  4. Add new areas and new verticals such as groceries and pharmacies; for quick grocery delivery, an app like Getir connects to the same infrastructure.

If you need an ordering app for a single restaurant or chain, the right page is food ordering app development; to combine an existing restaurant's Yemeksepeti, Getir and Trendyol orders, see the platform integration page.

Frequently asked questions

What does it take to build an app like Yemeksepeti?

You need a customer app (iOS, Android, web), a restaurant panel, a courier app and an admin panel; alongside these, marketplace payment infrastructure, delivery zones, and commission and payout management are set up.

Ready-made Yemeksepeti clone script or custom software?

Ready-made scripts get you started fast, but they cannot be changed when they don't fit your commission, delivery and payment rules, and the source code is often not yours. With custom software your business model is built into the code, and the source code and customer data belong to you.

How are payments distributed to restaurants?

Through the marketplace payment model: the customer pays once, and the iyzico or PayTR marketplace infrastructure splits the amount into the restaurant payout and the platform commission.

Does the platform provide couriers, or the restaurant?

Both are possible. Platform couriers, the restaurant's own couriers and pickup can be selected per restaurant within the same system.

Can restaurants keep using their existing POS?

Yes. Orders can be tracked in the restaurant panel or sent to the restaurant's POS system; for restaurants using Kassa Restoran, orders arrive in a single panel.

How are price and timeline determined?

An itemised quote is prepared based on the number of apps (customer, restaurant, courier), platforms (iOS, Android, web), and payment and integration scope; the first version starts with a scope that runs in one area.
